Best Western Plus Phagwara

We stayed here for 7 nights and so glad we did compared to staying at our parent’s home in Phagwara. As there are always power cuts during the day and evenings. The water is also turned off during the day but in this hotel it’s not a problem. Anyway back to the hotel. It’s a little bit out the way from central phagwara as it’s in the off ramp of the Phagwara bypass on Chandigarh Rd. there are auto rickshaws available just up the road a bit for transport which only cost 100-200rupees to central phagwara. The hotel can call taxis for you also but they are more expensive. There is a doorman on 24/7 so nice to have a meet and greet at the door. They are also happy to carry your bags to your room when you return from a shopping trip. The reception staff are polite and friendly and booking in was simple and straight forward. We got a room on the second floor and was pleased with it. It was clean nice and cool with AC that worked 24/7. If there were power cuts the hotel had generators that kicked in but you would never know. As in other hotels we stayed in there was a delay for a minute but not here. There is a safe, fridge with mini bar (payable) ironing board, iron, hairdryer and slippers provided. There is no shaver sockets so I couldn’t charge my electric toothbrush which was annoying. There is room service available and it’s very reasonable they did veg thali for 450rupees and we ordered two grilled sandwiches and fries one night which only came to 604 rupees. The bar staff were good and Rakesh provided a great service when I ordered food in the bar. The chilli chicken was fantastic. The local drinks were also reasonable but foreign drinks were more expensive than in the UK to be expected really. The restaurant for breakfast was a buffet with a mixture of English continental food and Punjabi and South Indian food. They made omelettes to order and paratha too. The staff here were also good and friendly.
