Escape Away Belize Beach House

This place is amazing! Carlos, Lucita, and Ayzer were fantastic hosts. I saw some other reviews where people complained about the location, cleanliness, bugs, and other things, but I think it’s important to do a little research before booking. If you look on a map, you’ll see that this house is outside of San Pedro. It’s about a 35-45-minute golf cart ride from the airport and downtown San Pedro. If you’re looking for the hustle and bustle of town, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you want a relaxing getaway where you can sit by the pool or the ocean and unwind, then this place is perfect. There is amenities very close and I felt we were perfectly located for the other beaches and resturants. Yes, there were some bugs, but that’s part of being in a tropical location and not something anyone can control. Just bring bug spray—it’s that simple. Also, this house isn’t the Four Seasons, and for the price I paid, I wasn’t expecting it to be. It’s an older beach house with character, and that’s part of the charm. Some reviewers were also upset that the caretakers live below the house, but that’s clearly stated in the description. Carlos and Lucita were wonderful and very helpful during our stay. The meals Lucita made were amazing—definitely ask for the shrimp and rice!

The only thing I can complain about it they need more chairs by the pool and beach.
