Diya Bed and Breakfast

Amazing when you’re indoors, very home-like, and rooms and beds were comfortable.

The location is in a very dirty area, especially after rainfall, and very unsafe once it starts to get dark. It’s enough to make you not want to go outside.

Every tiny detail of the decoration feels warm and welcoming. The property is a small oasis in the middle of the bazar area.

Nothing. Everything was amazing.

It was a safe haven away from the busy streets of Paharganj.

Nothing we didn’t like.

Cleanliness of the accommodation interior

Lots of things. 1. Diya offered a taxi pick up from the station to which we agreed, it was just a taxi flagged at the airport. We later realised the amount charged for this journey was hugely excessive (INR2000). 2. The room was very dark and very little air. 3. Despite building on its association with street children charity, other than 1 photo on the wall, this was not apparent and neither did anyone offer any service such as the walking tour which we had read about on Booking.com or suggestions of what to see etc. It was very hands off. 3. The backstreet on whch Diya is set is very dirty and unhygienic, even outside the entry to Diya. It is full of filth and awfully unpleasant to walk down. We left after 2 nights despite paying for 3 and moved to a better property in terms of location and facilities- I am so glad I did. I wouldn't stay there again.
