Kangaroo Point 2-Bed Flat with Gym & Pool

Location was good for us, close to other family and the ferry. Our flight was late arriving so Brisbane family picked up keys for us.

Unit was not cleaned properly, other people’s clothes left in drawers and cupboards. Not impressed with that at all. If what we could see hadn’t been done properly we wondered what else had been neglected that we couldn’t see.

The apartment was roomy and the building was in a great location for what we needed (access to Morningside and Carina). Everything looked relatively new and there was a huge selection of plates, cups, glasses etc. Comfy couches and a nice big TV. Collection of keys was easy (once I figured out there were two sets of instructions and I just had to pick the right one) - you do have to collect them at another location but it's not too far away. Gym was great as was the pool and residents in the building were super friendly when we met them in the lift.

I wish I could say the stay was great but it wasn't. We had specifically booked an apartment with a dryer as we were participating in a national sporting event over 8 days - so washing and drying uniforms quickly was important, as was cooking healthy meals. The things we didn't love were: - weird lingering smell that hit us every single time we entered the apartment from day 1. Table also hadn't been wiped down. - bed in main bedroom is rock hard. I'd say the mattress is ultra firm. - bedroom 2 - the cooling didn't work efficiently and we couldn't adjust it. There was a pedestal fan in that room - but it also didn't work! - The dryer worked intermittently... - Limited pots and pans. A small and medium saucepan and small and large frypan. The large frypan was buckled so it didn't sit flat and cooked things unevently. For us, cooking most nights, a large saucepan would have been handy and maybe some containers or bowls. We've stayed in multiple self-contained apartments and these have always been available. - The balcony is enclosed which we knew from the listing, but we weren't able to open the windows. So when we cooked, and the items burnt in the middle, opening the balcony windows would have been handy for air flow. - The tv remote didn't work. So we had to download an app on a phone to watch tv. Are all these things a big deal? Probably not. But when you add them all up, for us, yes. I messaged the booking agent re most of these things (because the messages we receive say if there's any issues or questions, contact them) but we received zero response to both messages. As we were at a sporting event and trying to get home and back to cook meals and wash, it was just one more thing to deal with I didn't really want to. Maintenance issues could be logged online but it looked like they wouldn't have been resolved any time soon. If you've booked here, good luck. I hope your stay is better than ours.
