Mountain Valley Home Stay

Mountain Valley Home Stay was the best homestay I have ever stayed in. The host uncle was extremely kind, humble, and caring. He was always available to help us at any time and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we truly felt at home. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Darjeeling.

It was a really good experience staying here. The owner, Sonam Lama sir, and his mother were extremely hospitable and kind, which made us feel very comfortable. The location is beautiful and perfect if you want to stay close to nature, away from the busy town. The surroundings are calm and give a very authentic hill-stay experience.

The only challenge was the steep walk. You have to walk downhill for about 10–15 minutes to reach the property, and climbing back up can be quite tiring, especially if you’re not used to hilly areas. However, shared rides are available for around ₹50, which helps. Also, due to very foggy weather during our stay, we couldn’t enjoy the views, which was a bit disappointing. This place is great for adventure lovers, but may not be suitable for elderly people or those who prefer easy access.

I had a wonderful stay in Darjeeling. The mountain valley homestay was very comfortable, clean, and felt like home. The owner, Sonam Lama, is an extremely kind, humble, and genuinely nice person. He was always ready to help and took great care of us throughout the stay. The view from the balcony is absolutely beautiful — Tiger Hill is clearly visible, and the sunrise from the stay is simply breathtaking. Waking up to that view made the experience even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable stay with warm hospitality in Darjeeling.
