I really loved the apartment itself as it was the perfect size for a small person like me and had all the basics I could need. The location was also so peaceful and lovely, lots of families and schools around which was super cute. I was intially very concerned about the intensity and high onslaught of rules I was sent via email after I had already booked the accommodation but everything was OK in the end. It's likely the host had some bad experiences with tourists in the past so I can understand why they would want to be extra cautious with everything. As long as you are clean, quiet and respectful you should have nothing to worry about here.

However, having said that, I must be honest and say it was actually quite stress-inducing with some of the wording in the host's communications and the seemingly constant threat of being kicked out with no refund if I didn't follow all the rules to a tee — rules which are not posted anywhere in the listing as incorrectly stated in the host's initial email to me after booking so I'll share them here for full disclosure. Some of them are very standard reasonable requests per Japanese laws like no shoes inside, no vomiting or stains on the sheets, separating your trash and sending personal details including passport photo to the host via email as it is a self-checkin system. No showering with the door open is also OK as it is a small room and the steam can trigger the fire alarm. However, no loud talking or standing outside the building, no humming or singing inside even if softly or involuntary, no deliveries and no removing the key from the lockbox system is out of the norm for sure based on my other similar apartment stays in Japan after this property. In the end it was totally fine and I did get one friendly email from them thanking me for my stay but generally speaking, they were quite unaccommodating. There was a problem with the window screen and very weak wire tying the key to the lockbox that they said would only be fixed after my stay (fine as no one broke into the apartment via the window and the key wire didn't break which were my main concerns). They also didn't allow my suitcase to be delivered to the room via Yamato but luckily there is a pickup centre fairly close by so you could take a taxi with your suitcases from there. I assumed food deliveries were also out because of the no deliveries rule.
