Reiterlandhof

All in all, this was one of my best experiences in a German hostel so far. Our original plan was to go to Winterberg for sledding with my daughter, but due to kilometers-long traffic jams, those plans fell apart. We decided to change course spontaneously and drove straight to Reiterlandhof. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The host noticed that my daughter looked sad, and when I explained that she was disappointed because she could not go sledding, she immediately offered us a sled and suggested using the hill in the backyard of Reiterlandhof. This small but thoughtful gesture completely changed our mood. The property has many horses, which my daughter absolutely loved. Although I had forgotten to book breakfast, Frau Kamm kindly offered us breakfast free of charge the next morning and even allowed us to take some bread for the road. As an extra highlight, my daughter was able to ride a pony for half an hour for just 16 euros. In reality, the ride lasted almost an hour, and this was not an issue at all. In summary, the stay was wonderful, and I would highly recommend this place to families. I would even say that instead of going to Winterberg, it is worth simply enjoying Reiterlandhof itself—the peaceful environment and the surrounding nature are especially beautiful in winter with the snow.
