About this house rental
A peaceful 14th-century "maison-forte" on 2.6 hectares of private parkland, 5 minutes from the historic UNESCO spa town of Vichy. Two stylish, independent properties sleep up to 10 guests (+ 2 babies), rented together, so friends and family can share time and still have their own space. Pool (10m x 5m), hot tub (by reservation), air conditioning/heating, WiFi and free parking.Rated Meublé de Tourisme 4★. We have our own private apartment on site and are available to help if needed.
The Château de Champagnat is a 14th-century maison-forte in 2.6 hectares of quiet parkland, calm and spacious, yet minutes from Vichy. Shared spaces for gathering sit alongside private rooms for retreating, so everyone can spend time together without feeling crowded.
Days here are slow and simple: coffee in the park, walks through the grounds, afternoons by the pool, relaxed evenings dining outdoors.

La Lodge (up to 8 guests, 126 m²)
Recently renovated, with a practical layout for group stays.

• Ground-floor double bedroom with step-free access and accessible bathroom (shower chair available)
• Three further bedrooms upstairs (two doubles, one twin)
• Family bathroom
• Outdoor dining area with plancha, pizza oven and countryside views

• Dedicated workspace
• Wood burning fire
• 2 travel cots and 1 high chair available
Le Pigeonnier (2 guests, 38 m²)
A cosy, more private space, ideal for a couple within the group.
• Open-plan living area with kitchenette
• Ensuite double bedroom upstairs
• Air conditioning / heating
• Private rooftop terrace and plancha
Please note: because of its spiral staircase, Le Pigeonnier is not suitable for children or guests with reduced mobility.
Babies: are accommodated in La Lodge

The setting
Both properties have private entrances opening onto the courtyard.
Guests have full use of the grounds:
• Swimming pool (10m x 5 m, available June-September inclusive depending on weather)
• Hot tub in its own building, by reservation so it's always clean and ready (available all year round)
• Parkland for walks, picnics or simply unwinding
• Plancha for outdoor cooking
• Pizza oven

5 minutes by car: Vichy. A UNESCO-listed spa town with a thermal spa, elegant Belle Époque architecture, parks, riverside walks and cycle paths. Myriad dining options (including Michelin-starred restaurants), parks, cycle paths, theatre, casino, guided visits, golf, kayaking, a tourist train and horse-drawn carriage rides.
Close by: the Forteresse de Billy, wine tasting in the caves of Saint-Pourçain, the Base Nautique de Saint-Germain-des-Fossés, the Via Allier and Boucle du Lac d'Allier cycle routes, "Destination Grand R" mountain-bike circuits, and Cusset's Tour Prisonnière and underground caves.
Within about an hour : the medieval town of Moulins, the Château de Lapalisse, Charroux (one of the "most beautiful villages in France"), Le Pal animal and amusement park, Paleopolis, Puy de Dôme, Vulcania, Clermont-Ferrand and Street Art City.
We'll greet you to hand over the keys when you arrive. We live on site and look after the park, pool and hot tub, so you'll see us around and we're happy to help whenever you need us. We respect your privacy, and are always on hand for recommendations or booking restaurants and visits.
If you would like a home-made pizza evening, please advise us 24 hours in advance so we can heat the oven for you, and help with cooking if needed.
Electric vehicle charging is not available.
