This custom 2 story cottage is perfect for a group of friends or family getaway. It is set up with style and comfort with 3 bedrooms (2 Queens & 1 Cal King) and two well-appointed bathrooms. The open living room with Smart T.V., dining room and kitchen allow for easy entertainment and gathering. The kitchen is stocked and well appointed to make cooking a delightful experience. The wood floors, artful lighting, & decor, plus stunning views set the stage for a perfect vacation. Mini split provides comfortable heating. The main level of the home has 2 bedrooms each with Queen beds and one full bathroom. Upstairs offers an beautiful, spacious loft-like den, a bedroom with flat screen T.V., a Cal King and the 2nd full bathroom. There is so much space to spread out and relax, do some yoga, read or just breathe in the ocean air. There is a large capacity washer/dryer. Onsite parking is available for 3 vehicles. No garage parking .The location is prime, located close enough to the highway for convenience but high enough to avoid road noise and just 10 minutes from the vibrant college town of Arcata, 10 minutes from the charming seaside village of Trinidad, and less than 2 miles from the local airport for easy travel. Outdoor adventures are a cinch with proximity to the celebrated California Coastal Hammond Trail, perfect for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. This 5-plus mile trail, voted the "best place to walk, jog, or bike" in Humboldt County, offers stunning scenery and access to Clam Beach County Park.

** Guest reserving home must be 25 years or older, be staying at the property the entire time and will be considered the responsible party for this booking.

The cottage was clean and spacious and in a great location just south of the Redwood National Forest (about a 30 minute drive). The walk to Clam Beach was a nice plus and the sunsets from the top deck were awesome!

The home was decorated well, matched the photos, and had comfortable, clean furniture and bedding. We felt safe during our stay. The view was lovely, the location was good, and there were games and books available. The kitchen was adequately stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and a few spices. Before check-in, we requested to drop off luggage since we were arriving early, and management agreed — very helpful.However, upon arrival, the home was extremely hot upstairs due to large windows facing the sun. There’s no central air (which we knew), but there were no screens on the windows with the best breeze, so opening them let in mosquitos. After texting, someone offered to bring box fans.We soon noticed ants in the kitchen (with bait already out, so clearly a known issue) and that the downstairs rug hadn’t been vacuumed well. That evening, the upstairs tub barely drained and was clogged with hair. All but one smoke alarm had been removed, and more ants appeared. I emailed and was told someone could come the next day.They provided temporary window screens, offered to vacuum (I had already done so), said they’d spray for ants, and reinstall smoke detectors. However, the ant problem worsened — showing up in the kitchen, laundry room, near the front door, in the primary bathroom, and eventually in my son’s bed. We were refunded the cleaning fee.Would we return or recommend? Probably not, though with improvements, it could be a much better rental.
