Five Oaks B&B - New Quay

Nice enough a little rude upon our 9.15 arrival didn’t feel like such a nice guy, he is a nice fella but customer service needs work. Ate out all week and every restaurant/bar was so polite and welcoming, couldn’t cook picked eggs just said no I’m not doing them!

I appreciate it’s eco now but the photos need updating a little scruffy and overgrown, wildlife is one thing but there is definitely some items trees and brambles getting out of control, nice guy but in his own world not the customers. Seems like a it’s part time gig until he gets the wildlife business up and running. No photos sorry didn’t feel there was anything worth taking a photo of.

Ample healthy breakfast with choice of simple cooked breakfast too. Location tricky to find (sat nav signal failure) but was excellent - close to beach, away from large caravan sites. Rooms were spotless and beds very comfy.

I'm not a great fan of cats.

Five Oaks B&B was located in the heart of beautiful countryside and very close to New Quay town and a few small safe beaches such as llangrannog. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a simple arrangement of fresh fruit yogurt and cereal as well as poached eggs on toast from their own hens which could be seen foraging in the fields, alongside the three resident alpacas. Josh was accommodating to our needs and very knowledgeable of the surrounding nature and wildlife. We enjoyed our stay at Five Oaks which offered a perfect balance of peaceful rest and adventurous exploration of the surrounding areas.

Whilst respecting the environmentally friendly need to limit plastic, personal shower products are often forgotten on short breaks away and we wonder if a environmentally solutions could be found such as soap and body wash dispensers that can be refilled.

A very warm welcome from the hosts with a love of nature, many different animals residing in the house grounds. Extensive knowledge of all local wildlife both in the sea and on the land willingly given by the host. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly prepared. No frills Bedroom and bathroom all clean and fully functioning. Parking readily available at all times.

Access roads can be narrow and tricky to manoeuvre when weather is sunny and beach use is the name of day for tourists and locals.
