The Backpackers Hut Chow Kit

The stay here is considered value for money and near to Bukit Bintang and TRX. Been my second stays here on my monthly visit. However please stock up the toilet rolls and air conditioning cleansed as there is foul smell on this trip. The supervisor is proactive thus I will continue to stay there next month.

I would have given 5 stars for the staff because they were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, the hotel itself does not deserve that rating. If you are sensitive to noise, I strongly recommend avoiding this place. On my first day, after checking in, I went to my room exhausted and tried to sleep. However, the room was extremely noisy. I could hear everything—someone was using the washing machine around midnight, other guests (who seemed to be students) were talking in the common area, there was constant noise from people opening and closing the doors, and even the air conditioner was quite loud. The second issue was the shared bathrooms. Although the staff cleaned them regularly, about 90% of the guests were men, and many of them did not use the toilet properly. Since the bathrooms were shared between men and women, it often felt uncomfortable and unpleasant to use them. The biggest problem was the room itself. There was no window, so there was no natural light or fresh air. The room smelled damp and musty. It was tolerable for the first two or three days, but after that it became difficult to breathe because the room felt completely closed off. I chose this hotel based on the positive reviews, but unfortunately, I really regret staying here.
