OKU Hotel

Loved staying at the Oku! The hotel was very stylish and the art deco design was in every little detail, from wallpaper to light switches. The room was really spacious and a great place to relax. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options. The self service, coin-operated laundry (2 washers and 2 dryers) was a great amenity that more hotels should offer. The laundry room offered packets of laundry powder, which was a life saver. Each floor had drinking water machines, which also reduce plastic use.

If I had to nitpick, the music in the hallway, although fit the theme and style of the hotel, was too loud and we could hear a bit in the room. But luckily since the room is so large, only the bathroom was near the room door. There was some mild outside noise but nothing that cheap earplugs couldn't solve. But I'd still stay again next time in Taichung.

Spacious, modern hotel with great amenities, a lovely buffet breakfast, friendly staff, and convenient coin laundry.

The location is a bit far from the main attractions by walking distance, though it is close to bus stops and the main train station.
