Charming Cotswolds Retreat in the Heart of Dursley

This is a beautiful, historic house. It's situated with a small courtyard that has a couple of adjoining properties, each with its own outdoor bench. I was there during a heatwave and it was lovely sitting outside in the shade with a coffee and sometimes chatting to the neighbours. Inside, it has been furnished in a lovely way, with a modern, light and spacious kitchen + dining table (complete with fresh coffee, herbs, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a washing up pack etc. which made it feel very welcoming). The rest of the house is nicely furnished and I really appreciated that the whole place was nice and clean. Entry is via a digital keypad that was easy to use (once a neighbour had told me to put my hand on it to activate it) and it felt secure. It is more or less situated on the Cotswold Way path, so that it's possible to walk left, under the arch and head up to Stinchcombe Hill or straight ahead and on the pathway up to Cam Peak. Both are lovely walks and I'd recommend them. It's also only 1 minute's walk to the nearest (and very good) Indian restaurant, 2 minutes to the market centre where there's a micropub The Hoptician and a hip café The Bank, and 4 minutes to a large Sainsbury's. No need for the car. When I needed to get in touch with Red Kite (managing the property), they were responsive.

Just be aware there's a separate, unavoidable £5 admin charge for the refundable deposit. (It is explained in the property details small print.) I don't like surcharges and I've fed back about this, so maybe it will have been changed by the time you book.

Good location for our stay and well positioned for local amenities. Comfy, quirky cottage, with everything needed.

A guide to local places to eat or visit would have been useful, and a welcome pack of milk, bread, firewood etc for when you first arrive would have been helpful. A few bulbs in the kitchen were out but usable. Parking is an issue as only a very small car can be parked at the property and the restrictions in the nearby carpark are not accommodating for an overnight stay.
