Located very close to a busy and sometimes noisy Rt. 198, Sound House puts you about 10 minutes to Northeast Harbor, 20 minutes to Seal Harbor, 20 to 25 minutes to Bar Harbor, about 30 minutes to Southwest Harbor and only minutes to Acadia National Park. Enjoy all that Mount Desert Island has to offer when you stay at Sound House.

We had a wonderful stay at the farmhouse! The location was very convenient for all of our activities and served and a perfect base to explore all the area has to offer. We loved the full kitchen so we could cook instead of going out each night. We would certainly stay again if we travel back to the area.

Charming centrally located property that was perfect for our needs. Kimberly left thorough information about the house which made us feel right at home. The kitchen was spacious, and everything was spotless. We would definitely stay here again.

Bed was comfy, house was beautiful and the location was perfect for us! Half way between Bar Harbor and Northeast harbor made it auper rasy to get whatever or do whatever we wanted without the town crowds. And Kimberly was a great host, very responsive and welcoming!

Yes, there is a fairly busy road. BUT this charming home is conveniently located to Acadia NP, Bar Harbor and many other wonderful places to visit. You can get to a trailhead for hiking and cycling on the “quiet side” of 10 minutes up the road. Kimberly leaves many thoughtful details that make the home a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
