Serenity was the perfect getaway for my friends and me - just a couple of hours’ drive from NYC, yet it felt like a world away. Nestled among the trees, the house is peaceful and private, but still just a stone’s throw from the lake and within walking distance of several great spots to grab a bite or a beer.
The home itself was spotless and beautifully furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen featuring new appliances. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated the high-quality linens, plenty of blankets, and towels. We especially loved spending time on the spacious deck - sipping coffee in the mornings and cocktails in the evenings. We were even lucky enough to spot deer a few times during our stay 😊
Despite the warm and humid weather, the house stayed comfortably cool throughout our visit. Just a five-minute walk away, we were able to rent kayaks and paddle boats for a relaxing afternoon out on the water.
A short drive (or about a 15-minute walk) took us to The Hub, where we grabbed coffee, delicious sandwiches, and some basic groceries. We also had lovely breakfasts at Terra Cottage and Chat-n-Chew - both charming local spots. One evening, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner at Nick’s, and on Friday night, we were in the mood for something livelier—Shenanigan’s definitely delivered!
During our stay, we also took day trips to Bushkill Falls, a nearby winery, and the town of Jim Thorpe—all highly recommended. (Just a heads-up: parking in Jim Thorpe can be a bit tricky.)
It was a fun, relaxing vacation, and we’re already looking forward to coming back!
