    Kind family, great packed lunch and an amazing breakfast set out for us. Views of the Mekong were incredible. The bathroom light, air con, water situation was a little on the fritz but otherwise good!

    Clean spacious room with amazing river views. A basic breakfast was included but all worth it. They pick you up and drop you off at the slow boat, they can prepare food for the second boat day and you even have robe and slippers in the room.

    Terrible place. Don’t be fooled by the photos. We booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Arrived at Pakbeng bus station and called the hotel for pickup. The lady said we had to pay, so no free pickup like written in other reviews. Already annoying. When we arrived, she gave us only one room and NOT the river view I booked. She said the hotel was full — total lie, it was clearly not full. First scam. Then the room… windows WITHOUT GLASS. Seriously. If you want AC, you must stay in complete darkness. The shutter was too big so the window couldn’t even close properly. No mosquito net. This is unacceptable. FIX THIS. Hotel is new but filthy. Dust everywhere: room, corridor, corners. Nobody cleans anything. Breakfast at 8am was a joke. Absolute war zone. Cold food from earlier, no plates, no cups, no coffee (only tea). Everything else you have to pay, with menus everywhere reminding you the prices. Disgusting. Zero service. Then the boss lady tried to rip us off for a second night. We paid 1M kip for 2 rooms on Agoda. She wanted 1.5M kip, direct payment, no Agoda. I tried to be nice so she avoid paying commission — big mistake. She just tried to take more money with stupid excuses. Don’t try to scam people, especially experienced travelers. This place clearly does not care about guests because most people stay few hours before the boat. We left angry, walked to the boat, didn’t even take breakfast and promised ourselves never again. You’ve been warned. Choose another hotel and don’t let this place destroy your impression of Laos. Guillaume

    The owner regularly double books the rooms, as she lots of customers arriving from the boats once a day. It happened to 2 other peaple as well as us. We were stuck at the side of the River with nowhere to stay for the night.
