The room I upgraded to and the ease of an excellent location to most attractions
The standard room is small. when you have a child and all the extra stuff you need for a winter vacation it’s even smaller.

Systemic Failure: Discriminatory Service, Security Risks & Substandard Conditions at a Premium Price
My experience at your front desk on the night of December 12th was not simply poor service—it was a prolonged, unprovoked, and unpleasant interaction that felt racially charged. From the outset, I encountered consistent disdain, refusal, and exaggerated negativity from two staff members, suggesting a permissive culture of discrimination rather than isolated “bad moods.” When faced with polite requests, they acted in unison with contempt, a choice your management must own.
1. Charger Inquiry:
I politely asked if a lost power bank had been turned in. The female staff immediately responded with a loud, theatrical exclamation and a dismissive facial expression. She refused to answer directly, forcing repeated clarification, then ended with a sharp “No.” The tone was patronizing and obstructive.
2. Shuttle Booking:
When requesting the complimentary shuttle for my 11 AM checkout, the male staff refused in-person processing, insisting I “send a WhatsApp message.” He feigned surprise about standard checkout times, attempting to frame my reasonable request as unreasonable.
3. Unsafe Financial Practices:
During check-in, staff requested my credit card PIN for pre-authorization—highly irregular and unsafe, violating standard European hotel protocol.
4. Substandard Accommodation:
The room was cramped and overpriced, with inconsistent water temperature and insufficient heating. As a “Treehouse,” it offered zero privacy, with constant foot traffic outside the windows. Mechanical noises disrupted sleep further.
5. Heating & Temperature Dispute:
requested a warmer room the first night; the staff claimed adjustment but asked me to “wait and see.” The next night, after returning from viewing the aurora, my door was fully closed (only unlocked) with no draft.

The staff was very nice
The bathrooms are tiny. The lighting in the bathroom is terrible. You cannot open any windows for fresh air.

The information about penalties and fines was too much emphasised while checking in.

It was pretty
The inaccuracy of the listing and unwillingness to compromise or have a reasonable solution. Felt like a scam. Everything is overpriced.

The rooms were very comfortable.
The restaurant served good food
The staff were very nice
We stayed three nights and the menu didn’t have any changes throughout. Given there isn’t much choice around and most of the choice isn’t very nice the hotel had better food but they could have had a daily special with some variety. The soups weren’t very nice they didn’t taste or anything.
There is no spa facility like hot tub and sauna. Not much to do in the property unless you are out on excursions.

The room itself was spectacular! The view was incredible. I do recommend booking a room with a garden view so you don’t look out onto another hut. Restaurant was great and the waiters showed they really cared about service!
1) The facilities were sub par.
• Excursions are extremely over priced (use get your guide or local travel companies and pay 1/3 of the price)
• €200+ for a massage is astronomical, especially when paying a considerable amount for just the room
2) Warnings of fines - as soon as we arrived we were warned of the fines that would be incurred if we lost our key for example (€45) - it just started the stay on a negative note and reduced the ‘luxury’ of the hotel
3) Breakfast is very average

Absolutely everything from the check in team to the bar/restaurant team and concierge.
Nothing. This is one of the best hotels you’ll ever stay in.

fabulous view of forest & sky, spacious bedroom & tasteful living area. Great bathroom amenities, mini bar & coffee choices. Lovely chairs & comfy bed. Breakfast choices delicious, staff friendly & courteous. Handy use of fat bike to get the 2 km to Santa's village. Dinner was divine & wait staff recommended wine paired perfectly with the perch fish.
bathroom small. Poor use of space. I bumped toilet roll off holder several times manoeuvring. Shower doors difficult to use. Streetlight outside came directly in through large window. Room freezing & controlled by reception centrally. No phone & room 4 min walk to reception to make any requests. Could hear nearby planes from airport.

Ambience, location. Bed was very comfortable and the room temperature was also comfortable during the day and at night.
The room was small for the price, the chairs were uncomfortable and there was nowhere to write or use a laptop. Bathroom was cramped.

The hotel was very near the airport and the Santa Clause village and next to the main road into town and various attractions around Rovanemi. The service was warm and friendly, and they really met our needs! On the night of our arrival, there was a high chance of seeing the Aurora and around 11pm at night the front desk called me on my mobile excitedly, informing me that the Aurora could be seen just outside our cabin window! Talk about great service!
The service at the Rakas restaurant for breakfast and dinner was equally warm and inviting. The food was excellent and the atmosphere inviting.
The toilet is too small and there was no space to place our toiletries / skincare products inside. We had to leave everything outside the toilet as it was very cramped.

Clean atmosphere and surroundings, super comfortable room , great view outside, creative glass/treehouse.
All sorts of toiletries, bathing gowns, slippers, umbrella, torch, and lots of towels were provided too. A beautiful bunk bed was there too.
Extremely good staff. Kind, cooperative, and at our service. A car drops and picks up from the treehouse and vice versa.
Lavish breakfast and customised service . Staff coming and inquiring if we needed something. It was season end, with very few guests still the staff was attending us and made customized food, even with the lavish buffet breakfast. Rakas restaurant ❤️🎈
We got an early check-in and late check out.
Thanks to Elisabetta, Sofia, Krystal, Buddhini, Theo, Habib, and the restaurant personnel.
Will surely visit again 😊
Though it was a room with a kitchen, very few utensils were provided. All cutleries but no knife. It's just a small pan and tea pot. Maybe good for boiling noodles, eggs, and pasta. For one night's stay, it was ok. But the whole purpose gets lost if you are there for a few nights and think you can cook yourself as you are booking a room with a kitchen.

Everything. Beautiful setting and rooms; incredible staff.
Rooms are on the small side; although we've noticed that that's a Finnish thing.

Beautiful setting in the middle of nature. Food was excellent in the restaurant. Accommodations were high quality and lovely. Service was excellent- we had noted that we were celebrating our 25 year wedding anniversary and there was a chilled champagne bottle waiting for us which was perfect for the occasion.

Everything perfect. We enjoyed it a lot. Very high-standard hotel combine premium services, with a boutique style with a perfect localization in the middle of the woods.
If you are without a car, the hotel is a little remote and you will spend quite a budget on taxi services that are expensive in Rovaniemi mainly due to the demand related to Santa Claus village. You can walk from the hotel to Santa's villa, quite a nice walk, but it is the only thing you can visit without calling a taxi,

good location, close to airport and town. nice rooms and staff.
hotel is next to a big parking lot and santa village. So does not feel remote and a bit touristy.
There is no Sauna.
8.0 / 10.0
This hotel is very unique and beautiful. Pricey but the views are worth it. The Sauna in the room is a big plus point.
The fact that check in is at 4 pm and checkout is at 11 am is very bad and not very fair considering the price tag of the hotel. as good as the hotel is it doesn’t have the “cozy hotel” feel with the receptionist being rude on arrival and appears to be in a rush and don’t even care about customers.
