No elevator! Shards of glass found on bathroom floor. Smelly towels.Ants crawling around the sink. Flying insects crawling and flying around bathroom. Broken LED panels - careful to check and advise staff so they dont charge you. Sound of sex happening easily heard from outside our room.

The photos on booking look great, presumably when the hotel first opened, the reality is different. Thick Dust is everywhere , the rooms clearly don’t get properly cleaned or maintained, there is a musty damp smell, and the shower area has flies. The hotel is also next to a restaurant, so your room will smell of cooking food until it closes at 1am . Would never come back , don’t be fooled by the nice photos.

This may be the most fabulous room we’ve stayed in in all of Japan! The lighting, the decor, the ambience, just stunning!

This was my second time staying at Giraffe Tenjin, and overall, it was another great experience. The hotel rooms are very nice and look exactly as pictured on the booking website—spacious, beautifully designed in a classic Japanese style, and featuring a lovely onsen-inspired bathroom. Having stayed on the ground floor during my previous visit, I was up one floor this time. I did notice that the bathtub water temperature wasn't quite as hot as it was on the ground floor, though the shower was still perfectly hot with great pressure. The main downside to keep in mind is the luggage storage policy: you cannot store luggage before check-in or after check-out outside of a strict window. You can only drop off luggage starting from 11:00 AM, and even then, it requires a pre-booked appointment. Despite that minor inconvenience, the overall quality of the rooms and the tranquil atmosphere make it a fantastic place to stay. I would happily return!
