Had a really good stay at Rioca overall. The room setup is perfect if you like self-catering, though the outdoor space wasn't quite worth it for me this time around. What I loved about the room: • Awesome kitchenette: It's fully loaded with a fridge, microwave, pots, pans, and cutlery. You have everything you need to cook. • Fun tech features: There are built-in speakers in both the nightstand/side table and the bathroom mirror, which was a great touch. • The Essentials: The bed and pillows were perfectly fine—good enough for a comfortable night's rest. If you need to iron clothes, there isn't one in the room, but they have a communal laundry room you can use. Why I didn't use the balcony: I booked a room with a balcony but honestly didn't even step out there. The dividers between the rooms are just open grills, so you have zero privacy from your neighbors. It would be a lot better if they put up solid walls. Plus, the view right now is just a building under construction, so it's not much to look at. The Hotel & Location: The staff here are super friendly and welcoming. Just keep in mind that they only clean the rooms on every 3rd day of your stay, and you have to pay the local city tax in person at the front desk. On the bright side, the free coffee in the morning is a fantastic perk! Location-wise, it’s a bit of a distance from the main Bahnhof, but the local train station is an easy walk away. It’s also super convenient for food shopping since both Lidl and Edeka are right down the street.

Great Amenities and Staff, but Beware of Agoda's Incorrect Room Descriptions! I recently stayed at Rioca and had a mixed experience. While the hotel itself offers excellent modern amenities and fantastic staff, there is a major listing error on Agoda that future guests should be aware of. ⚠️ The Big Disappointment: No Bathtubs! I specifically booked a room through Agoda because the listing stated it included a bathtub. Upon arrival, I found out my room only had a shower. When I spoke to the front desk, the staff informed me that no rooms in the entire Rioca hotel have a bathtub. If soaking in a bath is a dealbreaker for you, do not trust the Agoda description. 🛏️ The Room & Amenities Aside from the bathtub issue, the room itself is highly functional and well-equipped: • Full Kitchen: It comes with everything you need, including cutlery, pots, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Perfect for longer stays or saving money on dining out. • Cool Tech: I loved the tech features, especially the speaker built into the side table and the speaker integrated into the bathroom mirror. • Comfort: The bed and pillows were perfectly okay—nothing extraordinary, but fine for a good night's sleep. • Missing Items: There is no iron in the room. However, you can easily iron your clothes in the hotel's communal laundry room. 🛎️ Service & Hotel Policies • Friendly Staff: The team here is incredibly welcoming and helpful. • Housekeeping: Keep in mind that room cleaning is only done on the 3rd day of your stay. • Perks: They offer free coffee, which was a really nice touch in the mornings! • Extra Fees: Be prepared to pay the local city tax directly at the hotel check-in desk, as it isn't included in the online booking price. 📍 Location & Convenience The hotel is located a little bit away from the main station (Bahnhof), but the nearest train station is still within comfortable walking distance. For groceries and essentials, both Lidl and Edeka supermarket are just a short walk away, making the location very convenient.

Our stay at Rioca left us with mixed feelings overall. While the price we paid was reasonable, there are several factors future guests should carefully consider. The location is not particularly convenient, especially for those relying on public transport, which can become costly over time. Our room’s view faced what appeared to be an unused shelter area, which was not ideal. Housekeeping is scheduled every three days as part of an environmental policy; however, the standard of cleanliness was inconsistent. For example, hair was present around the basin upon arrival and remained there for the duration of our stay, which raised concerns about attention to detail. Additionally, we repeatedly had to request toilet paper from reception, which was inconvenient and not something we expected. In summary, while the accommodation offers good value for the price, the overall experience was only satisfactory, with several aspects that could be improved. It may be suitable for short stays, but there are a number of considerations to keep in mind before booking.
