Lamfel Résidence Tangier

The property owner picked us up from the ferry, with her daughter who spoke great English (and French and Arabic) and drove us through gnarly traffic to the location which was quiet and nice. The apartment astounded us: It was a whole massive three-bedroom apartment all for just my daughter and me. It would be great for a family. Huge living room with long 'couch benches" where I could imagine a big hukkah being shared. The hostess was wonderful and cheerful, and she ended up being our "tour guide" the next day, greeting us the next morning with Moroccan pastries and driving us all over the Tangiers area and to the Kasbah, taking us around to places we'd otherwise not have seen in the short time we were there.

We had left a lot of stuff over in Spain, just grabbing some basics for the one-day trip over. So we didn't have some toiletries that are usually always present in hostels, hotels, B&Bs. And there were none provided. No soap, no shampoo. She'd provided coffee and milk/sugar for the kitchen, but the gas stove was a little scary, making airy hissing noises that didn't seem quite right. Many of the cabinetry doors were shabby and peeled-away pressboard, so there needs to be a bit of TLC. But overall it was clean and the beds were comfortable.
