Didn’t know about not being able to get Parking

The host was very communicative and responded quickly whenever needed, which made the stay feel smooth and well managed. The check-in instructions for accessing the key and getting into the property were clear and easy to follow. The apartment itself was clean upon arrival. We especially enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub during our stay, and the small balcony had a nice view of the courtyard. Another big plus was the walkability — there were plenty of places nearby that we could easily get to on foot, which made the location convenient overall.

We had to pick up the keys from a lockbox at a different location, which made check-in less convenient. It also would have helped to have more than one key. The listing location was not the exact location of the apartment and was actually a few blocks farther from the stadium. The surrounding block also felt uncomfortable at times due to homelessness and visible drug activity. In addition, the apartment did not fully match the photos — while the layout was similar, the furniture, bedding, and décor were not quite as nice as pictured. The sheets and pillows also seemed worn and could use updating.

Overall, the unit was nice. It was spacious, enough room for my husband, child, and myself. My daughter enjoyed her room and having her own bathroom while on vacay. The kitchen was up-to-date and contained essential items for use if needed. There was a nice balcony, but I wish there were chairs or some sort of seating to enjoy it without having to stand. Great views as well, it overlooks the pool area. We enjoyed the hot tub, and my daughter visited the pool for a little while as well. The wet area was clean and functional which I really appreciated. The water pressure in this unit was superb! Something to look forward to if you care about that certain thing. Nice size tv in the living area, and nice windows.

-Obtaining the keys for the property was a little more than I'm used to. I had to pick up keys from a key machine/lock box located at a nearby 7Eleven. Initially, I assumed the rental would be above the store, however, later I was sent an additional address which was for the actual unit. I was not that fond of traveling to two separate places. -Communication with the property owner was a little all over the place. I would receive info from Booking.com chat, an automated text/regular text from the owner, and a separate text from who I assumed was a property coordinator. It became a little alarming when I had to pay for secured parking (which I don't think I should have been charged $150 [5 nights] for since the parking is for the building). I was asked to send payment via Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Pay. Before I sent the money, I checked to see if the same message was in Booking.com (which it was), but still off-putting during a time when scams are so high! -The shower in the main bedroom in the rear had slowly drain. I contacted the property coordinator, and someone did come within 20 mins. A little inconvenient, but the issue was resolved. I think some routine maintenance needs to occur in the unit. The shower liner needed to be replaced as it had a brown hue. You can only clean those so many times, then eventually you need to go on and replace... -The images for the rental were a little different from what I saw in person. I asked the owner if they had multiple properties, but they stated only one. I find that hard to believe as there were more windows in the images vs the actual rental. Images showed a sectional sofa, which I loved- however the rental only contained a regular sofa. The main bedroom had no tv, and I thought I read there was one. The beds were different as well. New photos needed for the listing. -The hallway in the bldg had a weird smell, and the washer needs a tub clean.

What I enjoyed about the property was primarily the location. It is truly in the heart of San Diego near just about everything. I do like that the property has a gym on site as well as a pool and jacuzzi and a nice fire pit seating area.

The property has a lot of potential for an enjoyable stay, but unfortunately, it’s lacking in many areas. The pictures of the interior space doesn’t look like what is advertised. The bedding and bath towels/rags were very worn-out and dingy looking honestly, the bedding and the towels both look like they came from the thrift store not something that should be used for your guest. The shower curtains are extremely dirty and filled with mildew making it very uncomfortable to enjoy your shower. We went to look for the Wi-Fi password and noticed that it’s literally written down in a black sharpie on a piece of cardboard box like a homeless person sign. Again unacceptable for your guest. I’m grateful for the owner being very prompt when we requested the sheets to be replaced after we notice the appearance of them and the smell of the blankets. Again, I do believe the space has such great potential to be amazing but I do believe that it needs some TLC and someone to truly come in and freshen up the place even a small affordable trip to IKEA to upgrade those small details would be helpful.
