I was so lucky to come across this listing and I impulsively without even checking the property, chose it. And boy was I so happy to have gone there. Upon my arrival, the staff immediately made me feel welcome and part of the family. I was shown around the premises and was immediately awestruck by the wonderful views. This has to be the best place in town. It's high up on the hill but close enough that you could even walk downtown. At night, it's so quiet and quiet hours after 10:00 p.m. Are respected. That said, the walls are a bit thin so it's always smart to travel with ear plugs, but I slept soundly! The bed was super comfortable and I was just sad that I only got to stay there one night. There were even marshmallows to roast by the fireplace at night. The place is filled with such history and is family run and they really care about their guests. I made so many great connections just that one night it was incredible. You could probably spend a whole day just in the common area because there are so many interesting details and a bunch of books that you can just peruse. Or you can just sit outside and have your tea and just enjoy the view. There even is a space in the fridge where you can keep your perishables which I really appreciated. The shared bathrooms are spotless and I really felt immediately at home. I really hope to be back and hope that I can stay for longer next time! They even gave me a thank you note that was personalized for me. These are the details that exemplify local, family-run businesses. I will remember this place forever. All these details left indelible marks in my heart. It is indeed a special place!
I liked everything. Note that checkout is a bit early at 10:00 a.m. But you can use the common area in case you want to have your tea or do some work before heading out for hiking. Also note that there are quiet hours after 10:00 until 7:00 a.m. and the walls are a bit thin so keep that in mind in case you need to do loud work after 10pm. These rules are what makes the place a delight because everyone can rest. Just good for you to know!
