Panorama by maison bacou

This villa is in a really beautiful location a short walk from old Carcassonne. It is tastefully decorated and the pool was a welcome relief from the heatwave (40 degrees one day!) The host was very friendly when we did need to make contact and was kind enough to let us have a late check out due to an afternoon flight. I would recommend this villa to anyone wanting to visit Old Carcassonne, but worth noting you will need a car to visit the supermarket etc (we chose to use Uber instead as we did not want the hassle of car rental) My preference was to visit the newer parts of Carcassonne as once you have been inside the Old Town a couple of times you have seen it all. It’s very touristy (naturally) and can feel very crowded during the day. We spent most afternoons by the pool listening to the birds sing in the lovely garden. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook if you choose to. The air con in the bedrooms is very effective, but we were a little surprised to find no air con or fans in the main living area - I don’t think this would have bothered us in normal summer conditions, but most days the temp was well over 35+ degrees!

We would have really appreciated shade over the pool area - I did raise this with our host who did highlight there are other places to sit in the shade. Some parts of the villa are in need of a cosmetic touch up - this did not ruin our stay and we had a lovely time, but the photos suggest a much more high end feel than we experienced. Small things like kitchen doors not closing properly and toilet roll holders hanging off the wall. As I say, none of this is going to ruin your stay here, but they could be easily sorted at not much cost and it would make the home feel a bit more cared for. I would also highlight to those travelling with small children that the blinds are very thin and let in lots of light, this could be managed with a travel black out blind (which we did not have)

Tout Un séjour absolument merveilleux en famille ! ✨ Nous avons eu un véritable coup de cœur pour cet établissement. La maison est lumineuse, chaleureuse et décorée avec beaucoup de goût. On s’y sent immédiatement bien, comme à la maison… mais en mieux ! La vue imprenable sur les remparts est tout simplement magique. Chaque matin, ouvrir les volets et profiter de ce panorama est un vrai privilège. Le jardin est magnifique, parfaitement entretenu, idéal pour partager des moments en famille, se détendre ou simplement profiter du calme. Un vrai plus également : de nombreuses places pour garer toutes les voitures, ce qui est extrêmement pratique lorsque l’on séjourne à plusieurs. Et que dire de la literie ? Exceptionnelle ! Nous avons dormi comme sur un nuage, un confort rare qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable. Bref, tout était parfait. Nous reviendrons sans la moindre hésitation et recommandons cet endroit les yeux fermés. Un grand merci pour cette parenthèse enchantée !

Le lieux est très beau, baigné de lumière et de sérénité. La vue sur la cité est incroyable de jour comme de nuit. En arrivant dans le jardin la vue est à couper le souffle; on peut tout faire à pieds pour se balader dans la cité et laisser la voiture dans le jardin. Les équipements sont de très bonne qualité les matelas sont très confortables.
