my worst stay in Finland ever

The welcome at the accommodation was awful. The owner greeted us rudely and spoke to us in a disrespectful tone for not letting her know the exact time we would arrive, even though we hadn't received any notification message and her last message was written in Finnish (languages we don't understand). She kept us at the door entrance (-25 degrees) with our luggage, preventing us from entering the accommodation because her young son was screaming and crying, and the situation was very unpleasant for my group. After a while, we were finally allowed to check in, and the beds didn't have pillows or covers (even though we had provided the bedding and towels as described in the accommodation listing), so we had to ask for them. After checkout, she sent us a photo of tiny feathers from his cushions, claiming we had soiled his bedroom floor (surreal and funny). Finally, she took out the pizza boxes we had thrown in bin the night before and placed them on the floor to make it look like we had done it (lying) to claim for cleaning fee. I strongly advise against this accommodation for anyone needing a good night's rest in Finland.

Very good price and very nice hosts

The owners were very easy to reach and to talk too. I spoke with Jenni vía phone and also in person. The bed was comfy. In the room there were not just beds but also a table, rocking chair... The room with 4 beds was spacious and very reasonable priced. The toilet is renovated and clean. I did not used the kitchen due to my short stay so can't comment on this, but is shared with host and guests.

I arrived late in the night and left early in the morning, there was some other guest in one of the other rooms who was signing in Finnish until quite late and he sounded drunk. I did no't have good experiences on the past with drunk people so I felt very uncomfortable: I did not dare to go ask the guest to stop signing and also I feared if he would do something during the night, as the doors of the rooms can not be looked. This took awake the calm rest I was hoping for and it took me long to fall asleep. I am not sure how the hosts can do this better. For me, maybe having being informed when I arrived, as they knew, would have helped. And having a possibility to lock the door would have made me feel "more safe or protected". But I think it was just a bad luck there was such a guest that night... We had an open conversation about this with the host, Jenni, next morning which I appreciate.

Really nice hosts and house, but...

The hospitality of the hosts The house is very cozy It's easy to find, well indicated

Be aware that each bedsheet is 15€/person. So, for people that do not travel with their bedsheet (well, everybody), you will have those fees. We paid 60€ for the night, and 30€ for bedsheets ; this is complete nonsense in my opinion.

Disapointment

Near Pallastunturi, house is nice even if in renovation.

-Among their 3 rooms for rent, the single one is an alcove (I hit my head multiple times even if 160cm) with a very small window you can see the sky through it. Don't be claustrophobic -The bed looks like camp bed base, so even if mattress & pillow are good, I got back acke. -Hidden price... when I booked, nothing was mentioned anywhere about 15€ extra price for my dog - even thought there is long rules/recommandations/prices mentioned in Info... Impossible to check it before booking/paying (no refund)... so the person sent me different emails, trying to explain extra cost. and when I arrived, knocking at my door at 9:15 pm to give me bank account number... -Impossible to lock the door of my room, no key, so with other people renting the rooms next each others, no possibility to keep personal stuff...

Ville and Jennys wholesome homestay

The most amazing hosts ever!! Very spacious, warm, nice big kitchen very comfy beds and a sauna! Plus Jenny is a yoga expert and ville likes to join in which is very funny to watch 😂 Stayed here during my European divide trail, and there is parking for bikes.

Accogliente e pulita. Host molto gentile

La sistemazione è molto carina, il bagno in comune è usato solamente da due camere e in caso fosse occupato ce ne è un secondo. La famiglia è molto gentile e disponibile, la proprietaria parla un ottimo inglese, lo spagnolo e anche un po' di italiano. La stanza era pulita e spaziosa, così come il bagno (la doccia era molto ampia) Non abbiamo avuto problemi di nessun tipo, consigliato se siete in zona.
