Modern & Spacious City Apartment

What a wonderful apartment … great location easy to get to everywhere , very well equipped , clean, comfortable and with a lovely terrace . We needed to contact the owners on a couple of occasions and got excellent service

We couldn’t fault it .. there was a problem getting in when we got there but that was easily resolved

Very well organised house with washing machine and dryer. Well-equipped kitchen. Terrace with nice view of the canal, quiet neighbourhood a short distance from the city center. Spacious and very bright.

Check-in was difficult because I had to find the keys in a lockbox in another house in the neighbourhood, which was not easy at all in the middle of rainy night. As for the details of the operation of the house (wifi etc.) I tried to contact the host but he did not answer my messages for 2 days. At some point I read his previous messages and saw that a few days before he had sent me a link by message which contained all the information I needed and even more. However, when he sent it to me I was already on the road, in vacation mode and I missed that specific message. In any case, I believe that communication is done via chatbot as I periodically receive messages saying that if you need anything contact us, which I did but I receive no answer whatsoever, until the next message that says their formalities. In short, communication was unacceptable.

This is a beautiful apartment and it is ultra quiet. You do not hear a peep. Pleasant and close to the city center.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this property. I come to Bergen twice a year and have seen my fair share of hotels, Airbnbs, and Booking.com places here. Last time, I rated this property a 10. This time, I would give it a 7. The biggest issue was the key collection. You have to collect the key from a lockbox attached to a different property, about 200 metres away. That sounds simple enough — until you take the wrong road and end up at the back of the building, dragging a 23 kg suitcase and a trolley around in circles at 3°C late at night. After about 20 minutes, I finally found it. Better instructions could easily have avoided this little Arctic expedition. Of course, once you know where the keybox is, it suddenly seems obvious and you wonder how you ever missed it. Even a donkey could probably find it… eventually. Things didn’t improve much when I got back to the property. I struggled to open the front door with the key fob for another 10 minutes. I even phoned the support number, only to be connected to a hotel where nobody seemed to know what was going on. Eventually, the door opened by what appeared to be luck rather than technology. What annoyed me most is that the host is probably already aware of this issue, as I noticed a previous review mentioning the same problem. Once inside, the apartment was cold because the heating had been turned off. That is not particularly welcoming after travelling. It also doesn’t really save energy, because the first thing I did was switch on the small electric heater at full power for several hours. I stayed for a week and noticed quite a few long hairs on the floor and even in the sofa, so the cleaning could definitely have been better. When I left, I decided to leave the key on the table. Sorry… but after hauling luggage uphill once already, I was not particularly enthusiastic about another key-return treasure hunt. The host was not too pleased about this because the cleaning company could not access the property.
