Everything was ok except the fact that you have to pay for water and drinks kept in the fridge in your room. Pool timing was not helpful as well.

I chose Acta Moa mainly because of the gym and pool area.
To be totally honest, the gym was a bit of a disappointment. In the photos it looked really well equipped, but in reality quite a lot of the equipment was broken, and there were no barbells or weight plates for the squat racks. It was also quite dirty and could really do with a deep clean. It has the potential to be a really cool hotel gym, but it feels like it has been left in a bit of a state of disrepair. So if the gym is one of the main reasons you’re considering staying here, I’d just be cautious.
The pool area was nice, and overall the hotel itself is pleasant. The rooms are nice and mine was cleaned every day. There was a slight smell when I first arrived that seemed to come and go, but nothing major.
There is a kitchenette in the room, but no cutlery or crockery, and you’re given paper cups, which felt a little odd and not particularly sustainable. There were also only two coffee pods and a few tea bags provided when I arrived, and these weren’t replenished during my stay, even though I was there for nearly a week. I found that a bit strange.
The staff were generally fine and the interactions I had with them were pleasant enough. The only negative experience was in the restaurant when I asked if I could have some water. I was told quite bluntly that because I hadn’t booked breakfast I couldn’t take any water from the restaurant. I appreciate that I hadn’t paid for breakfast, but it was just water, and the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily rude.
Location-wise, I had no issue with it. You do need to take the Metro into the main parts of the city, but I actually quite liked having a little bit of distance from the centre.
I didn’t eat at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the food.
Overall, it’s a nice hotel and I enjoyed my stay, but the gym in particular really needs some attention given how strongly it features in the hotel’s photos and facilities.
