THE LOCATION
Vernon Township is in Sussex County New Jersey, USA. It is located about 1 hour from New York City and was established on April 8, 1793. Iron mining was prevalent during the mid-to-late 19th century. Mines such as Canister Mine, Williams Mine, and the Pochuck Mine created industry which spawned local businesses and brought rail travel to the town.
Today Vernon and the immediate area is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Here you will find a landscape consisting of residential and resort communities, farmland, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, bird watching, barns, horse farms and stables, lakes, fishing, and just so much natural beauty. The famous Appalachian Trail (AT) even runs through it! You will be amazed on what you will find only 1 hour outside of New York City.

The space was wonderful and exactly as shown in listing. Hosts are so communicative up to day of check-out. It was fun to have some games on hand to curl up and play while enjoying the fireplace in the evening. The fridge size made it so convenient to make our meals and enjoy going out and about in the area during the day. Would definitely book the space again, best condo we've stayed at in this location to date. It was a wonderful space to incorporate in our post-engagement weekend getaway with each other.

We had a wonderful stay at the Appalachian Resort hosted by Milagros & Sergio. They were incredibly friendly and gave us clear and helpful explanations from the start. The room was very clean, and it was great having the water park within walking distance. They also offered flexible early check-in depending on the situation, which we really appreciated. Whenever we had questions, they responded very quickly, so we felt completely comfortable during our stay. We would love to come back again!
