Having previously stayed at the Clayton Hotel in Chiswick, I knew what to expect from this hotel in Bristol. I arrived at the Bristol Bus and Coach Station, and it was a 7-minute walk with my cases to the hotel. Upon arrival, there are two small sets of steps to climb to enter the building, and it was a struggle with two cases, as I was physically exhausted after travelling for some 19 hours. It was only after I had got my cases up the steps into the reception area that I saw a small sign on the side wall stating that there is a side entrance to the hotel for wheelchairs. Etc, and I swore to myself for not seeing the sign. The hotel is ok; the rooms are clean and fairly well-equipped, and the breakfast is very good, with a decent choice of food. The bar in the lobby isn’t much, though. Some niggly things. The TV is satellite, and even the terrestrial channels are being satellite-streamed, and the picture goes off from time to time and is fuzzy and unclear. Then the local weather comes on, and, being satellite rather than local terrestrial, you get the news for the Midlands, whereas the hotel is in the south west of England. The internet is okay but prone to glitches, and at 25 Mbps, it’s a tad slow. Went out on a Saturday at 11 am, came back to the room at 2 pm, and housekeeping only arrived then to clean the room. The biggest issue is that the hotel is situated in a pedestrianised area, which means taxis cannot pull up outside. You have to walk about 20 metres to the taxi waiting on the opposite side of the barrier, which is fine. But, and a big but here, who wants to walk to a taxi when it is pouring down with rain? Other than the above all was ok.

The hotel is located in a very good location in walkable distance to a lot of restaurants and attractions. The hotel is considered new in a very good condition. The room is a good fit for a family with one child. The services are good and the breakfast is nice. Overall, it is very value for money.

This was an okay hotel - lovely spacious lobby, nice rooms, comfortable beds. There was someone else’s hair on the shower wall which was a teensy bit gross but the thing that really annoyed me was room service. The in-room QR code didn’t work and then, because there’s poor reception in the rooms, they asked me to come downstairs to pay. As I was going to have to go downstairs anyway, I just ordered from a local restaurant and went down to get that. Overall, completely fine and if under 100, perfectly reasonable.
