Cozy vacation home in the countryside with two terraces and pool

Beautiful, Peaceful Stay for Our Family of Three.We spent a week at Casa Alma da Serra in July for a family holiday and babymoon. It was peaceful, scenic, and just what we needed before welcoming our second child.The house sits in a quiet village on a hilltop, with stunning views across the valley. It’s a one-bedroom home, well-decorated and comfortable, perfect for couples or small families. Just a few steps from the front door is the lovely private terrace with an above-ground pool, shaded dining area, sun loungers, and even a sand play station our almost four-year-old loved. Though a narrow village road separates the two, it was used only a few times all week, and every car passed slowly.The location is peaceful and feels remote, but it’s just a 5-minute drive to São Brás de Alportel with shops, restaurants, and more. The hills behind the property are great for hiking.Though the host was away, her sister welcomed us warmly and was always available by WhatsApp for help or tips. A bottle of wine on arrival made us feel instantly at home.There’s no air conditioning, but we didn’t mind. The house can get warm during the heat of the day, which we found added to the experience. We slept well with the windows open. Fans are provided for warmer evenings. Excellent value, relaxing setting, and truly memorable. We would absolutely return.
