Parking by Car + 4 €:
Since our street is very narrow for parking and many parking tickets have been issued in the past, we have rented parking spaces for guests arriving by car, parking spaces about 100 meters away, which you can use for 4 € per day. To unload your luggage, you may park temporarily right in front of the house, as close to the wall as possible. Bicycles and motorcycles with a handlebar width of 95 cm can be stored indoors free of charge.
Bedding arrangement:
The bedroom is equipped with a double bed (1.80 x 2 m), blackout blinds, and curtains. A fold-out bed (90 cm x 1.90 m) can be set up in the living room if needed.
Garden:
Across the street is a garden with a barbecue pavilion, which our guests are welcome to use.
Smoking room:
Smoking is not permitted in the apartments. However, there is a separate smoking room on the first floor.
Laundry:
The washing machine and dryer are available for use for €5.
The origins of the Ferien-Fabrik...
At the end of 2014, we bought an old house in Idar-Oberstein at the foot of the Schlossberg. It was built in the early 1900s and served as the jewelry and chain factory of the firm August Loch & Philipp Sohn until the 1960s. The premises cover 360 m² and were once used not only as living quarters but also for the production of chains and jewelry—traces of which could be found throughout the house. With its uniquely winding layout, the house has a very special charm that has inspired us greatly. During the renovation, we tried to breathe new life into the old furniture and objects we found in the house...
Location...
Centrally located, our “Ferien-Fabrik” offers 2 vacation apartments with accommodations for up to 6 people. The apartments are situated on the sunny side of the Schlossberg, in close proximity (1 km) to the Felsenkirche and the castle, and offer a beautiful view of the Oberstein neighborhood. Whether on foot, by bike, or in your own car, you can easily set out from here on your planned excursions into the city or along numerous hiking trails into the nearby Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. Lidl, a bank, restaurants, an ice cream shop, a bus stop, and the train station are all just a few minutes’ walk away.
