This property is historic and constantly undergoing updates, preservation efforts, and repairs. There are many lose bricks, uneven surfaces, leaning walls etc. Guests should do a walk through upon arrival to confirm and note any conditions of concern. Pool is in fully functional and in safe working condition but there are some cracks and missing pieces in the plaster. Pool has been inspected by professionals and deemed safe but will be going through a full renovation in Q3/4 of '25. Pool cleaning robots should be removed prior to swimming. Adults must be present while anyone under 18 uses the pool. For guests with young children, we have a safety cover that guests should keep secured while pool is not in use. Please reach out before your stay confirm ages of any guests under 18 and to discuss proper safety precautions.

What a truly magnificent home!!! We felt like we had won the lottery when we had the opportunity to stay in this grand home in the heart of colonial Old Town Alexandria. This VRBO property is overshadowed only by the gracious hospitality of its owner! This most spacious, yet secluded home is within easy walking distance of all the main Old Town attractions - the Market Square, Potomac River waterfront, and charming historic streets filled with lovely homes, shops and restaurants. Staying here, we learned this property has historical significance dating back to colonial times. The home itself features a private, fenced backyard and boasts a family-sized, in-ground swimming pool. The main home is a study in understated elegance — beautifully designed and appointed throughout. We all commented on how wonderful the beds and pillows were to sleep on and also marveled at how quiet the interior of the home was despite being in the center of bustling Old Town. In addition to being an impeccably clean home, linens, towels and bathroom amenities were all provided, and the kitchen was amply stocked. Before, during, and after our stay, we were repeatedly touched by how warm and considerate our host was…most respectful of our privacy, but also willing and eager to share this gem of a property with others as well as personally seeing to every detail to ensure we enjoyed our weekend stay to the fullest! I would highly recommend the Owl House - this property is a rare treasure!

What an amazing house! It is beautifully designed with large and spacious rooms, a lovely porch, and very clean pool. Paul and Samantha have modernized it lovingly. Every detail is luxurious, from the plush towels to the totally comfortable furniture, the high-quality toiletries, and full set of supplies in the gourmet kitchen. Paul and Samantha are so thoughtful about making sure you're comfortable and have everything. The location is in the center of charming Old Town Alexandria with restaurants, shops, and picturesque streets all around. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
