About this house rental
We completely renovated and refurnished the small half-timbered house (100 square meters) at the Barkhof in Egestorf in 2025.
Make your dream vacation in the countryside come true, whether you’re looking to relax or enjoy an active getaway (cycling, horseback riding, hiking...).
Nestled amid the most beautiful natural scenery northern Germany has to offer lies the small, idyllic village of Egestorf. On the outskirts of the village, yet still close to shopping (supermarket, bakery), we purchased an old half-timbered farmhouse 11 years ago (we live here ourselves) and renovated and modernized it to our liking. Right next to the main house is the small guesthouse, surrounded by a beautiful courtyard and garden.
You’ll be welcomed by a house with historic character both inside and out, featuring modern, simple, and charming furnishings that invite you to linger, snuggle up, cook, and relax.
Living room with flat-screen TV, Alexa, and iPad (Spotify), as well as yoga mats; multipurpose room with a single bed and desk (home office possible with high-speed Wi-Fi); bedroom with a double bed (two separate mattresses for a comfortable night’s sleep); 2 bathrooms (shower and bathtub), and a kitchen that’s perfectly equipped for preparing breakfast and small meals (for 2 or 3 people).
The house is allergy-friendly; pets are not allowed.
We have two lovely dogs living on our property.
Depending on the season, we have horses grazing in the pasture adjacent to the garden.
The most beautiful trails for hiking, biking, and jogging start right outside the village—just a few minutes’ walk away.
