About this house rental
This is the fourth year we have listed our home and previous guests have commented: ‘A really beautiful house and garden, spotless and perfect’. ‘Lovely property, very clean and tidy and equipped with everything you need.’ and ‘Exactly what we wanted, a quiet, relaxing piece of heaven in the English countryside’. Turnworth has many wonderful original features including wooden beams in the old half of the house which dates back to 1670. On the ground floor you have a large dining room with a coal gas fire, perfect for entertaining and holding evenings filled with great conversation and good food. Next door is the living area with plenty of room for people to stretch out with a cup of tea or watch a movie (Netflix, Prime and Apple TV+ available). There are also Sonos speakers available for your use in the kichen and the living room.
There is also a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook up a steam, be that a big brunch to set you up for a big day exploring or an evening meal to enjoy catching up with friends and family. The conservatory that adjoins the kitchen is an incredible suntrap - perfect for morning coffee! There is a loo and a (power) shower room also on the ground floor.
Upstairs are three good-sized bedrooms, two with King sized beds and one with a Bunkbed. The family bathroom serves all three bedrooms and has a bath and a shower.
There are some terrific walks either directly from the house or in the locality as well as an excellent selection of welcoming pubs and excellent restaurants nearby. A well-stocked convenience store is just a short walk away.
From Turnworth, visiting Oxford or Woodstock and Blenheim Palace (both easy by bus from the end of the road) are always a pleasure. The glory of the Cotswolds, including lovely towns of Burford, Bourton-on-the Water and Stow-on-the-Wold are just a half hour’s drive away to the west. Bicester Shopping Village (if a huge number of high end outlet shops are your thing!) is a twenty minute drive to the east. Stratford-upon-Avon with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s theatres are an hour away north and London is easy to get to from Oxford Parkway station, just five minutes from the house. It takes little more than an hour to arrive in London.
Turnworth is our home and we look forward to sharing it with others for a fourth year.
