I was looking for an affordable room in Vancouver not far from the airport, which is why I booked this place. I came with my mum and it was nice. Parking was easy, the location was good, and we even got a bigger room than the one we booked. The bed wasn’t the best we’ve had, but it was comfortable to sleep in. The owner was really nice. I actually forgot the USB plug for my computer mouse in the room and only realised three days later—luckily the owner found it and kindly sent it back to me by post, which I really appreciated. The check-in was quite brief, so we didn’t get much information about what we could use or not, but we understand it’s because the owner doesn’t speak English. Maybe a small information sheet in English would be helpful for future guests.
The bathroom is shared, so having a few extra towels in the room, like a hand or face towel, would have been really helpful since the shared one got wet quickly. The same goes for the floor mat, which was already damp the evening we arrived. There seem to be quite a few rooms, so it would be nice to know in advance how many there are and whether they are mostly short-term or long-term rentals. We were asked to remove our shoes, which makes sense for cleanliness, but with the floors near the kitchen sink and in the bathroom getting wet, it was a little tricky to keep our socks dry. For the price, having coffee and tea available in the morning would be a lovely touch.
