Manarala Villa

An absolute hidden gem perched atop a hill, with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The hospitality from the owner was exceptional, even accommodating a last-minute request to make my wife’s birthday extra special. And the food was simply outstanding, easily the best I’ve had anywhere in Sri Lanka.

This is a beautiful place to stay. It's way up in the hills. The design of the house is great offering views from every window. The view is simply stunning and it's well worth getting up early to catch the beautiful sunrise. The owner was a charming host. The food was very delicious. Comfortable bed and good a/c in the bedroom.

I would have liked a bit more wildlife, the birds and monkeys mentioned on the website. Perhaps we were just unlucky. There is nowhere to sunbathe. Not much to do so 2 or 3 nights would be perfect.

How not to fall completely in love with this place, at first sight! As visiting from the Netherlands, the flora and fauna are absolutely astonishing. We had much fun locating local birds, animals and trees. The Manarola team & family truely made this house something special. And they share this with their guests through local cuisine and care. We have learnt so much in these short two nights! Thank you so much for showing Sri Lanka through this amazing view and putting so much work in the lovely food. A trip we will never forget.
