A handy stress free stay

It was very convenient free parking and was very refreshing as situated in a quiet area.Food was divine just enough.A nice atmosphere and vibe

Nothing really our room was small not sure are the other rooms. Bed suited us but might not suit a bigger couple.

It was nice and clean, but the room we booked for 2 people was tiny, barely enough space to walk around the bed and a bathroom less than 1 metre squared. The staff were lovely and the location was nice, but it is not what we were expecting for the price we paid, €100 for just a bed and no other furniture, not even a bedside table

Ideal for a short stay in Dublin, typical Irish experience

This property is above a local neighborhood pub in a suburb of Dublin near the cruise ship terminal and with easy access to the airport. It’s next to a church. The hot water in the shower is amazing, the water comes so fast and is so well heated. The food in the pub downstairs is amazing and the staff are really friendly. The bed is comfortable and the owner let us stay longer in the room on the day of checkout. You can hear the church bells in the background which adds to the Irish experience without being too loud.

The property didn’t provide any soap for in the shower, just 4 little shampoo bottles so we had to use that to wash ourselves. The room is tiny, it’s basically just one bed and a shower. It’d probably be great for 1 person but we were a couple so it was cramped. You can hear noise from downstairs when you’re sleeping, not bad but something to be aware of if you’re sensitive to that. Also while the room is well maintained there was a lot of moisture collecting on the windows and we just couldn’t get that under control. That may be a problem on a longer stay.

Perfect for the Aviva

The location was perfect for a match at the Aviva stadium. Only a 6 minute walk. On arrival at the pub we were checked in by a really lovely lady who made us feel very welcome. We had neglected to book a table for dinner and they were very busy, but she found us a table and looked after us. The food was excellent for a "match day" menu. The room was freshly renovated, and you could still smell the newness of the carpet and paint.

It would of been nice to have more than one pillow. Also a shower mat, hair dryer and a spoon for stirring the coffee in the room.

Didn’t realise the economy double would be so small. Not ideal for more than one person. Bed small also. Also super noisy until around midnight 1 due to the pub and live music.

Great location, 10 minute walk to Sandymount village, 20 minute walk to docklands & river Liffey. Perfect location for Aviva stadium. Very comfortable Room, great mattress for a good night's snooze, room size ok for solo traveller. Pub downstairs for Food & Beverage. Very helpful, staff called a taxi on departure.

Friendly spot with helpful personnel!

My daughter was interested to check out universities in the local area so we chose these rooms. It was fun and perfect for us on the short stay. We were welcomed by the pub owner. The pub staff were extremely helpful and shared their experiences with my daughter about Dublin.

Parking in front of the area is tight - be sure to talk with the staff about where to park. :) We were very happy to have a parking space nearby for our stay.

Great wee spot

I loved the staff, Bella was so nice and a very lovely person. The bed was so conformable and the shower was unreal. The food in the bar downstairs was so tasty and great value for money the over all coast was a steal for Dublin. I will definitely book this place again

I only have two completes if you could all them that... there was broken glass at the table we had for dinner and there was no spoons or white sugar in the room we had for tea the next morning

Simple and affordable stay in a quieter area of Dublin

The Merry Cobbler is as advertised. It's an old tavern/inn with only a few rooms. The rooms are small and satisfactory for a reasonable rate. Parking is nearby and using the bus is easy; walking seems safe and convenient.

The room/space is not one in which I would spend time other than for sleeping as there is no room for additional furnishings to relax or spend a rainy day.

The room was very clean.

The room allocated was very, very small verses others sighted. Being there 7 nights, I’d have preferred being allocated one of the bigger rooms. There were no coffee/tea making facilities or hairdryer in the room as had been confirmed on booking info. They were provided once asked. I had to request room / toilet bins be emptied and for additional supplies of milk and coffee satchels. The staff were all friendly and accommodated my requests, but thought these would have been catered for.

In spite of the shortcoming mentioned above, I would still consider staying there again.

Everyone working there was very kind and helpful, including the manager who addressed concerns we had. The food in the restaurant was also tasty, and the location was very convenient.

I was disappointed that we were crammed into the smallest room and given no tea even though we were the only guests the first night.

Frankly I loved it. Room was sparkling clean, nice bathroom, and a matress I wanted to put under my arm and take home with me

The only downside was staying there the night of a big football match on a Saturday. I would definitely stay here again, just not on a weekend.

Clean room Good shower It was convenient to have a bar and to be able to eat on the premises

Too Noisy - I requested a quiet room but was put in a room directly above the noisy bar and the main entrance into the bar, so had to put on headphones to get some sleep. I was then woken by someone power washing the pavement under my room window at 01.30 AM! Poor coffee/tea facilities in room Bathroom very small No information offered on arrival about the area, transport, no information about parking and when restaurant closes etc.

Would Happily Come Again

- Excellent location. The neighborhood seemed nice. The property is a short walk from the Aviva Stadium (5 mins) and 3Arena (15 mins). The C1 and C2 buses which stop directly outside the property will bring you to Heuston Station in about 30 minutes. - The staff were very friendly. After checking-in, they took the time to carefully explain how to enter and exit the property, depending on the time of day. Little things, like pointing out where the access code is and recommending I take a picture so I don't forget it, showed a great attention to detail. - The bedroom and bathroom were both very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the window opened fully to let fresh air in.

- To echo other reviews, the shower door is somewhat difficult to open from the inside. A short, sharp pull of the handle will do the trick, but it might concern some who don't figure it out right away.

A great stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was very quiet and clean, and the staff- very helpful, understanding and supportive. Special thanks to the owner of the pub Merry Cobbler (sorry, I did not ask his name) for welcoming us so early before the official check- in time. Especially, we enjoyed the feeling of being independent.

Leeds v Milan one night stay...

Very friendly reception from all the staff. The cleanliness of the room we stayed in 10 out of 10 and also the friendliness of other patrons. Fantastic bar and the best ever pint of Guinness we have ever tasted and not over priced. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel to welcome....

This spot was so ideal. Just a few minutes drive from the centre of town, yet being so close, it was also so peaceful and safe in the area. Me and my girlfriend came up just to stroll around, do some shopping and get food. The pub itself is so nice, the rooms above completely exceeded our expectations. We chose one of the basics rooms, small but perfect, we didn’t need anything else! Recently renovated so the standard was great and the shower was stunning for the size of the overall room. Food and pints were great downstairs. We met the owner on the way out when checking out and he was a gent! Location and value for money 10/10. Definitely will be back here again. Couldn’t say a bad word about the place!

it was a little bit noisy at times we could hear everything that was going on downstairs in the bar like music and singing but we did stay on a busy night so thats to be expected

Great stay and value for money close to the city

Lovely little pub this is. The lady behind the bar was really friendly and helpful. Easy to check in. Superb location with a bus stop across the road to quickly access the city. A short drive also from the city. The room was extremely clean, seemed freshly decorated and the bed was comfortable. Had a very good sleep. TV had plenty of channels too. As this was an economy room there I expected only a basic one so there wasn’t any shower gel/shampoo or tea/coffee facilities. Also as it was midweek, the pub may have been quieter than what it would be at the weekend. There was no noise and people left soon after closing time.

I just had a bit of trouble with the shower door not opening easily which scared me a bit! It was a bifold door and I think had a tight seal when trying to pull back to get out.

Historic nostalgic great service clean comfortable rooms

I’d say the only thing I didn’t like was the new shower… ya just about need a PHD to operate that thing The average traveler probably isn’t accustomed to this type of shower control and the door once shot can be really hard to open with just that little knob.. when hand are wet it’s really hard to pull it open without feeling like your going to break it. I had to use my wash clothe for grip… without it… I don’t know I might still be in there lol Also it would be a good idea and safe to put the color red and blue (universal stables for hot and cold to o ie which direction to turn There is small writing but I couldn’t make it out with my 49 year old eyes. So I had a lot of trys to get the temp just right The left turn dial changes between the waterfall head spout and the hand held spout Again, had to fumble my way through it for a bit to figure it out… anyways not a big deal at all, but perhaps some clarifying markings would be appropriate as to avoid future issues with guests

ATTENTION ce n'est pas un hôtel mais un bar qui possède des chambres à l'étage.

- Accès au chambre grâce à un digicode qui permet de rentrer à toute heurs de la journée. - Le bar est juste sous les chambre et l'ambiance semble plutôt bonne.

- Bruit permanant jusqu'à 1h00 du matin, impossible de dormir avant, en plus les chambres sont très mal isolées et la porte de chambre est juste à claquer (pas de serrure). - La chambre est très étroite et la Salle de Bain encore pire, il ne faut pas être trop large pour rentrer dans la douche. - Parmi les équipements ils n'y en à pas mis à par du café soluble et une bouilloire. - Le stationnement se fait dans la rue donc compliquer pour avoir une place proche de l'établissement - La nuit reste chère pour la qualité de la prestation. - Fuite sous le lavabo de la salle de bain. - Taches de saletés dans les draps.
