The instructions were detailed and easy to follow. We parked the car on a street nearby and only had a short walk up to the accomodation. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space in the house, the cosy bedroom, fully equipped kitchen and terrace with an incredible view of the sea and surrounding hills. We enjoyed the sunset every night from the terrace. Very happy to have a washing machine, toaster and kettle. Staying in hotels and hostels we have come to appreciate having these amenities. Our host, Claudia was very friendly and accomodating, checking in with us frequently during our stay and providing a list of recommendations with things to do in the area. Competa is easy to get around in using bsic spanish or only English in bars and restaurants as well. There is an outdoor workout area not far, supermarkets closeby and plenty restaurants, the occasional artisanal shop, bodega, yoga studio, open mic and live music bar and there is a pub/club with a younger audience fairly close by. There is also a very good pastry shop right outside that you must try. Yoga classes and guided walks available too. After staying in other mountain villages we liked the balance this one had between local family life and aminities for visitors too. The surrounding area is gorgeous. There are many hikes you can do and the terrain is friendly, we spent a whole day hiking and could have spent more.
