Steps to Venice Beach Vintage Venice Retreat

Die Lage war toll. Fussläufig am Strand. Es ist sehr lebendig (auch Nachts- habe mit Oropax gut geschlafen). Die Betten waren sehr bequem und das Bad auch schön.

Man merkt der Unterkunft an dass sie in die Jahre gekommen ist. Die Küchenschränke sind Recht heruntergekommen, der Aussenbereich nicht ansprechend. Es wäre noch schöner hier mit einigen Renovierungen. Und eine Waschmaschine wäre super gewesen. Parken war vor dem Haus quasi unmöglich mit unserem Jeep. Habe in den Seitenstraßen aber immer irgendwann einen Platz bekommen.

Super Lage. Freundlich eingerichtet. Richtig gut ausgestattet.

In den Schränken teilweise etwas dreckig. Teilweise nicht modern, teilweise doch. Die Dusche funktioniert, ist aber nicht schön.

Amazing location if you like Venice Beach! Good, clear late check in key system. Competitive price given how expensive the entire area is. Lovely kitchen and outdoor garden areas. Upgraded the review because one of the owners made a big effort to smooth things over.

(1) Listing promises a parking spot which is essential in this area. Arrived late at night after being told in an email that we could park in from of their gate to find there was a car there permanently. We had to park in a red zone blocking in the car, which apparently is what is expected, but the parking signs say cars will be towed. (2) Communication was poor, though I think it was a Booking.com problem too. The parking issue is an example where we got one reply that didn't fully answer our question about that, then no communication after several messages. They said they did not get them. I saw on booking that at least one message from them was undelivered to me. In any case, was not a nice initial impression. (3) The home needs a serious upgrade. Promised tea kettle does not exist; fan in one of the main bedrooms squeaks so loudly it can't be run at night at all (there's no A/C and the fans were needed). Lights were burned out. Ants. All kinds of electronics in the house not for guests and cluttering up the place. Generally just felt unloved inside and out. (4) Noisy neighbors (loud music out the window just a foot away from the bedroom each night; not in our hosts control, but not nice for trying to sleep).
