About this apartment rental
Großwinternheim, the picturesque district of the town of Ingelheim, boasts the oldest houses in the Selz Valley that were not destroyed by Napoleon and is surrounded by vineyards.
The region:
If you’d like to work here: Within 5–10 minutes, you can reach a well-known Ingelheim-based pharmaceutical company, the train station, the Rhine ferry to Oestrich-Winkel, the highways, or Lerchenberg with its television stations.
Mainz, Bingen, and Wiesbaden are all within 15–30 minutes and offer a wide range of music, art, and culture, as well as universities and schools.
The
“Rheinhessian Switzerland”
boasts outstanding cuisine, excellent Rheinhessen wines, well-developed bike paths, and many hiking opportunities.
The city is home to three famous organs: two in the Saalkirche, near Charlemagne’s Imperial Palace, and one in Gross Winternheim.
In addition to the Imperial Palace (circa 800), other famous sites include the Burgkirche, a 12th-century fortified church within the medieval city walls, the Bismarck Tower, and a tiger enclosure on the Waldeck.
By train, car, or boat, you can reach the medieval robber baron castles in the “Rhein Valley World Heritage Site” between Bingen and Koblenz, the palaces (Johannisberg, Schwarzenstein, Vollrads, Rheinhardshausen, and others), the monasteries and churches of the Hessian Rheingau (Eberbach, Eibingen, Marienthal, and others), as well as the Loreley and the Rheinsteig.
A diverse region with great potential—we hope you enjoy your time here!
Vacation rental with a terrace:
A small gate leads you into the Baroque garden and a paved, Mediterranean-style courtyard. A sandstone staircase leads to your approximately 100 m² apartment on the mezzanine level. High-quality teak paneled floors, clay walls, stained-glass windows, carved handrails, and doors with antique hardware, as well as high, light-filled beamed ceilings, give the apartment its distinctive ambiance.
You’ll love the cozy, turquoise-colored shower room with underfloor heating, a floor-level shower, and a glass shelf integrated into an old sandstone portal.
Both the living room and the dining room are furnished with original, antique Art Deco furniture from France and oil paintings; the living room also features a designer pull-out couch for a third or fourth guest.
From the living room window, you can enjoy the magnificent view across your patio into the peaceful rose garden.
The fully equipped, white solid-wood kitchen (espresso machine, dishwasher, microwave, stove, range hood, washer, dryer) features a cozy breakfast nook in a deep wall niche. From there, you can look out along the cobblestone street toward Westerhaus Castle and the Opel Winery, overlooking the Selz Valley.
You reach your spacious bedroom (twin or double) via a few (internal) steps, as it is located in the oldest part of the house, a half-timbered building.
In summer, the nearly meter-thick fieldstone walls provide natural cooling; in winter, the space is incredibly cozy thanks to a geothermally powered clay-wall heating system featuring healthy, organic paints.
