The Positives: The accommodation itself is pleasant, immaculately clean, and located in a quiet, safe, and peaceful area. It is a reasonable 1.4 km (approx. 20-minute) walk to both the beach and the town centre. When we contacted the owners directly on our first evening, they were incredibly kind, sympathetic, and lovely to deal with.

Hidden Fees & Missing Essentials: As a family of five traveling from Ireland, we are used to booking apartments through Booking.com. This is the first time we have ever had to pay extra just to hire basic necessities like bedsheets, towels, and even a drying cloth. No basic amenities such as handwash or cooking oil,were provided, and we were only given one small bin liner. Having stayed in Hamburg and Berlin on this same trip, this does not seem to be standard practice across Germany. Washing Machine: While advertised as having a washing machine, it is actually located in the basement (three floors down), costs €3 per use, and requires you to supply your own detergent. The Management Company: Management is via a third-party company. Despite this being the most expensive apartment of our trip (costing more than our three-bedroom city stays in Hamburg and Berlin), we had further charges of over €100 higher than our booking quote. This included a €44.44 service fee for the management company. Inconvenient Key and Linen Logistics: Their office is a 20-minute walk from the apartment. We had to walk there to collect the key, only to arrive at the apartment and find no sheets or towels. Because the office had closed, we spent our first night with nothing to sleep on or dry ourselves with. The next morning at 9:00 AM, we had to walk back to the office to collect the linens, and despite paying a massive €140.34 cleaning fee, we had to make our own beds. On check-out, we had to make the same journey to return the keys. To be fair though the company did contact us by message early in our booking to ask if we wanted linen etc at an extra cost, but this was never mentioned again, even when we went to pay. If you want a nice apartment in a satisfactory location and don't mind unexpected fees, having to go to another location to collect keys, bed linen and towels, and then making your own beds, then this place is fine. Otherwise, be prepared for a lot of extra work
