The owner was great with communication before and during our stay. He met us with lovely food and drink. There are beautiful gardens and amazing views as the house is high up from the road. The house was spotless and modern in décor. Good air con in the bedroom and kitchen facilities. Very comfy bed with good quality bedding. Limited English channels but who comes to somewhere as beautiful as this to watch tv.
The pool area got the sun the whole day so the water was pleasant and great for sunbathing and it is private. We were out exploring the area most of the day but it was lovely to come home to. We can recommend Amarante itself, Braga (in particular Bom Jesus), Guimaraes, Ponte de lima and Penafial . The palace of Mateus outside Vila Real is also worth a visit. There are 3 big supermarkets and loads of restaurants in Amarante which is a 10 min drive away. Would thoroughly recommend. Thanks to Antonio for looking after us and letting us stay. Muito Obrigado.
