The Freedom Hotel

My adult daughter and I booked at The Freedom House for three days. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming throughout our stay. I booked a standard room with a double bed. The room itself was quite small and basic, typical for a hotel room. Consisted of a bed, two small side tables, a desk and two cupboards. In my opinion, it would be more appropriately suited to two teenagers than two adults, particularly if staying for more than a night or two. There were only two electrical outlets in the room—one beside the bed and one under the desk—which was inconvenient when trying to charge multiple devices The bedside lamps were rechargeable, because of the limited outlets, but unfortunately they were not charged and therefore did not work, however, front desk replaced them once I brought it to their attention but they do die quickly. The closet or more appropriately cupboards, had adequate shelving but no suitable space to hang longer clothing such as dresses. The bathroom was by far the most challenging part of the room. It is small and not particularly functional. The door opens directly toward the toilet, there is no countertop space for toiletries but there is some small cubicles to store extra items but there is little room to move if you are not a stick figure. Once the bathroom door is closed, the space feels quite claustrophobic. To make matters worse our room was directly by the front entrance so every conversation, footstep and noise was ours to hear. :( Reception area/breakfast area is neat, clean and cozy. Breakfast was good. Directly across the street in walking distance are shops and various lovely restaurants for your convenience. Beaches not so close. Outside and down the stairs are more local shops and restaurants. Hotel is in close proximity (walkable)to the port and other restaurants. Curaçao is beautiful, buildings are very colorful and locals are nice. Their local mural artist Bagira is AMAZING. her art is flawless. They have her murals plastered across most of Willemstad downtown in hotels, restaurants etc While the pleasant staff were certainly a positive, and for many I am sure this would be adequate, the rooms would benefit from some thoughtful improvements to make it more comfortable and functional for two adult guests i.e 2 complimentary bottles of water in the refrigerator.

Had a great stay at Freedom! Great room and facilities. The breakfast is truly amazing and the coffee made by order was spectacular! But the highlight was the staff, super friendly and kid, amazing people and super attentive to everything!

Great value for money in comparison to other offers It has been perfect I’m really happy having breakfast it has everything you need super comfy and well located walking distance to everything People are kind and it’s chill
