If you are planning to visit the High 1 Resort but don't want to stay at the actual resort, High Valley is a decent place to stay. The Female associate at the desk is the best to encounter for check in, very kind and helpful. I have not encountered the other associates. The price is around 80,000 won a night which is not bad considering how close the hotel is to the resort. The hotel is a literal 10 minute walk from the Ski check in location (not the mountain resort lounge). I believe smoking is aloud in the rooms because there is sometimes a lingering cigarette smell but it's easy to get past. As every place in Korea, there are multiple convenience stores and other food options near by.
