Checked in at 6 pm on a cold evening and there was no hot water. Front desk said to wait an hour as others had used it. Absurd. We decided to go for dinner first and then use the bathroom. After dinner, we checked and it was still cold. I called at 9:30, 10:00, and 10:30. Only then did someone check and find the geyser had been off the whole time. I was told they were understaffed but that shouldn’t mean we should wait for 5 hours. We waited till midnight and finally slept at 1 am after we started getting hot water. At checkout I asked for a 50 percent adjustment for the missing basic amenity, because I want them to learn a lesson on how to better manage guests in a famous resort like theirs. They first offered 20 percent which I refused and then they insisted on waiving the full amount, which I was not looking for but eventually I had to budge as I was getting late for the sight seeing planned for the day. The room was lovely and the food excellent, but staff need training to verify basics and give accurate information. Hot water is a basic amenity and must be reliable.
