Waverley Cottage

Lovely well presented cottage in a quiet deadend street. Clean, tidy on arrival and it has a well equipped kitchen. Private parking behind the property for a small to medium size car. Located in the centre of the village close to everything and a very short walk to the beach. Great instructions on everything you need to know to have a good stay. The beds were very comfortable and bedrooms were a decent size.

I would go as far to say that there wasn't anything I didn't like, but I'd say wary of. 1)The stairs to the front bedroom wont suit everyone. Theres a tricky combination of part steps right outside the door. 2) If you can't park at the rear then parking on Victoria Road can be problematic if its busy.

We parked to the rear of the garden as there is a designated parking space for a car. We stayed over the Christmas period having taken all the food we needed with us. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to make our Christmas meal and all the appliances were easy to operate The bedrooms are a good size and the beds were very, very comfortable. Wonderfully quiet location, lovely clean village - you can tell the locals take pride in their environment as there's no ugly graffiti and no littering. Best of all were the exceptionally friendly and welcoming people.

From the front bedroom there is no landing so you come out straight on to some rather awkwardly, small shaped stairs which were quite steep. It took me a while to feel comfortable negotiating coming down the stairs safely. The bathroom is downstairs - as is typical for terraced houses of the era - but very well-equipped. I would advise using the over bath shower as the bath is narrow and shallow (and I'm not a big woman by any stretch of the imagination!).
