Casa Santa Margherita - Puglia Mia Apartments

Grandi spazi esterni ad uso esclusivo, barbecue, giardino, posizione tranquilla ma a due passi dal centro (in auto). Davvero strategica per chi cerca la tranquillità ma allo stesso tempo non vuole rinunciare alla movida o alle passeggiate in centro e godere del meraviglioso mare da nord a sud di Monopoli. Host disponibilissimo in tutto, dalla sciocchezza più piccola a qualsiasi altro problema, e la proprietaria di casa (conosciuta per caso)...una donna squisita e oltremodo gentile ed ospitale. Ci è parso di trascorrere una settimana nella nostra seconda casa al mare in campagna!

We booked this budget accommodation without expecting luxury, just a place to sleep and a functional bathroom. Unfortunately, it did not meet even those basic expectations. The sleeping arrangements were not as described in the listing for 4 adults. There was only one double bed and a small open couch suitable for one person. When we requested another bed or mattress, we were offered a folding bed but no bed sheets for two days due to the public holiday —they were finally delivered on the third day. The biggest issue, however, was the bathroom. The sewage was blocked from the moment we arrived, and the problem was never fixed during our stay. Dirty water overflowed into the shower and across the bathroom floor, making both the shower and toilet unusable. This was particularly unpleasant, as we had to clean it and we had to shower at public beaches and rely on restaurants for restrooms. We were told repairs couldn’t be done because it was Ferragosto, when many businesses are closed. After several discussions with the agency, and seeing the situation couldn’t be resolved, we decided to leave and move to Bari since no other accommodation was available on short notice. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. To their credit, the agency reimbursed the full amount (except the cleaning fee), which was fair. Hopefully the sewage issue will be resolved for future guests. I would only recommend this place for 2 adults and possibly 1–2 children, and be sure to bring mosquito repellent as the property is surrounded by vegetation.
