Castlemaine Gardens Vintage 60's Caravan

Caravan is gorgeous and comfortable. There's a reverse-cycle aircon unit in the ceiling that means you can fully control the comfort levels and there was none of that condensation buildup I remember from staying in caravans when I was a kid. The bed is genuinely comfortable and the linen was excellent quality. Bedside lights, little shelves for personal items, and plenty of powerpoints for charger cables are an especially nice touch. Foodtrucks on-site the second night were a lifesaver as we'd been out fully all day and it was great to not have to go out again in the evening. This is our third stay here in the last couple of years, first time was with extended family in one of the gorgeous and huge villas, second time was an overnighter in one of the small cabins, and this time the Vintage Caravan. We'll come back another time for a Glamping sleepover, but so far, this has been our favourite.

We were there over Easter so the park was extremely crowded; a family pitched their tent literally alongside the back of the caravan and that was a bit noisy very early in the morning, but I see that as situational and we pretty much expected that would probably be the case. Having said all that though, the park itself is vey chill and quiet. Phone reception in Castlemaine is really patchy so being able to use the Big4 wi-fi is a plus (I realise that's a comment about telco services to the town, not the accommodation, but I think it's worth knowing that your phone might easily dip from 5g & full bars to SOS in the blink of an eye).
