The Velvet Fern Guesthouse

The Velvet Fern Guesthouse is beautifully thought out in design and layout. All the little essentials are taken care of. Breakfast is included and Emily and family really took everything into account. There were cereals, fruit, croissants, burritos, hams and cheese, all the spreads, milk and butter, and teas and coffees. Th space is small (perefect for 2) but so fun and vibrant. The outside area was a beautiful space to stray the day with a coffee and a book. This stay was an opportunity for my daughter and I too connect, have one on one with no agenda and it was bliss. Thank you. The love in this home can be felt.

If you're sensory to sounds, there are the noises that go with people living above you. Nothing too drastic but it's there if that's a thing. Other than that, it ticked all our boxes.

I loved the commitment to detail and decorating - it was super cute. The suite was equipped with everything you need - a kitchen (with every appliance), two televisions, laundry, and closet storage. The rhubarb muffins and homemade jam were DELICIOUS!. The bed is super comfortable, and the room is quiet, and it gets beautiful morning sun. The well-appointed outside space was a bonus.

There was nothing that I did not like. Our initial impression of the neighbourhood was not great, with a 50% walkability score, situated adjacent to light industrial and somewhat busy streets. But you are only 3 blocks from downtown, and the bike trails along the road make it quite accessible. The tasteful decorating of the outdoor space gave it an Oasis feel despite the area, which addressed any concerns about the area.
