Graystone Manor

Convenient location for walking around town or using the Erie Canal Trail. Five minute bike ride and you’re there. Parking at rental was easy. The bedroom was decorated with many artistic touches. Lots of storage space in bedroom. Operable windows to let in fresh air plus efficient AC. Operable window in kitchen, once black curtains are open, but no AC. Many handwritten notes with instructions to help out a guest.

The plug in air fresheners were so strong they made me sick. Unplugged them right away but the scent lingered. Kept my stuff packed away to avoid scent staying on anything. The place is very clean, no need to cover up. After so much attention to detail in bedroom and hallway, surprised that the kitchen was so inadequate. A plastic folding table is not stable enough and metal folding chairs are uncomfortable. No kitchen tools except a can opener. Had to slice a bagel with a plastic knife, as only plastic ware is available. Bare minimum appliances: mini fridge, microwave and small coffeemaker. A toaster would be nice. Lots of knickknacks taking up space in kitchen. Clean and cute, but prefer counter space. No comfortable place to sit in the entire unit. (One wood straight back chair in bedroom.) Every rental needs at least one comfy couch or chair. Bed was great, but doesn’t take the place of seating. Some outdoor seating would add a nice touch.

They were very accommodating and clean and had everything you need but I would recommend that they remove all the ornaments on the stairs going up to room as is a tripping hazard bringing up luggage. Plus should install a handrail. Remove all ornaments from kitchen sink and window in kitchen Lighting poor in kitchen and should be able to Pull curtain back for more light Have seating outside to enjoy evenings or early morning.

Private

I loved how the parking was close to the entrance and how accessible it was for us to come and go. The interior was beautiful and it was basically stocked with anything we would need (soap, lotion, towels, extra sheets, etc.). The room had ac and it was always at a comfortable temperature. The furniture was very nice and everything was cleaned thoroughly before we got there.

It’s a very old house so beware of the stairs when entering but you are notified of that before your stay.
