Sunset Bay Cottage - Main Street charm with water views!

The 100-year old house has been very nicely renovated and contains MANY pictures, books, games, and other items that depict the location by the sea. The furniture, much of it new, was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The facilities outside were most accommodating. Wi-fi worked well.

The description of the house does not indicate the very small size of the rooms - especially the upstairs bath. The stairs were difficult to take luggage up to the second floor, and use of the third floor would be extremely difficult (did not use) as the rope railing gave a very unsafe feeling. The house is not ADA compliant and would be most difficult to exit in case of a fire. Safety features could be added to the bath with grab bars - slippery tub. The refrig ice maker and water dispenser were not working and neither were the dryer or the TV. The description states that the house accommodates 8 - it would be EXTREMELY tight quarters with that many people, and it would be difficult to have young children with limited space. As a first-time visitor to Chincoteague, we were surprised by the extra taxes, etc. that were about 1/3 of our bill -- not your fault but perhaps a note to future renters would be appropriate.
